The Alpha Players will be holding a 2nd round of auditions for select roles in their upcoming production of Agatha Christie’s “A Murder Is Announced.” This production was scheduled for May 2020 but had to be postponed. It is currently scheduled for May 21, 22, 28, 29 and 30, 2021 at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre. This audition is for specific roles which previously cast actors can no longer fulfill.

Actors are needed for the roles of: Inspector Craddock, Julia Simmons, Patrick Simmons, Phillipa Haymes, Mrs. Swettenham, Edmund Swettenham and Rudi Scherz. (See descriptions below.)

To limit the number of people in the theatre or lobby, we ask that you email the director to receive an appointment time for your audition. In your request for an appointment time, please include your name, phone number, age and the role or roles that interest you. You will receive an appointment time, audition form to fill out and return (via email or in person at the audition), and a copy of the sides for the reading. The theatre has strict COVID-19 safety protocols which we must follow. You must wear a mask and follow the practices of socially distancing during the audition.

Synopsis: Agatha Christie’s famous busybody Miss Marple encounters a mysterious and tangled web of lies and deceit in a cozy English country village, where a short newspaper announcement leads to unexpected murder, as ordinary villagers and friendly relatives may be devious enemies with secret identities, while devilish intruders lurk cleverly behind closed doors in a relentless quest for the family inheritance.
